Pirineos Del Sur 5.8
Huasteca Canyon
Just outside of Monterrey

This great route is in Huesteca Canyon. Another canyon in the Monterrey area. The route is more of a traditional route then the routes in El Potrero Chico, but it has brand new rappel anchors. There is about an hour uphill approach to this route. It is south facing and can be rather hot so it is important to start early.
The route is only four pitches and has one crux 5.8 chimney pitch. After the fourth pitch you top out on an amazing ridge with 1,000 feet of exposure from the steep north facing wall. It is necessary to walk along the exposed to ridge to reach the beautiful summit overlooking the city of Monterrey.
