The rock in El Potrero Chico is limestone and has many pockets. This style of face climbing comes natural to most climbers. This along with the bolted nature of the routes makes this a great place for climbers looking to transition to climbing multi-pitch routes.
We offer guided climbs and classes ranging from begginer classes to self rescue courses, but we specialize in introduction to multi-pitch climbing. El Potrero Chico Guides can also arrange your accommodations as well as pick you up at the airport making your trip as easy as possible for you.

The lodging situation in El Potrero Chico could not be better. The climber resorts have both camping, inexpensive lodging and a restaurant all within a five minute hike to the climbing. El Potrero Chico is located in the small town of Hidalgo Mexico. This friendly small town is about an hour outside of the major city Monterrey. All of this combined makes for a great warm winter guided climbing experience here in Mexico.
